Reliance Jio users are going to get free call facility once again.  Jio subscribers can avail this facility from 1 January.  The Interconnect Usage Charge IUC on these services is over.  Jio had given information about this on Thursday. 

The company said the commitment to free off-net domestic calls would be honored.  Domestic voice calls will be completely free after completion of the IUC charge.  From 1 January 2021, once again, Jio users will be able to take advantage of free calls.

Live users will not have to pay to call

In September 2019, TRAI extended IUC for mobile to mobile calls from January 2020 onwards.  Since then Jio consumers had to pay extra charge for off-net voice calls.

The company says that on-net domestic calls are still free.  The company stated, "Jio is committed to making advanced technology like VoLTE available to all Indian citizens.

In October 2020, Reliance Jio added more than 2.2 million consumers.  After this, the total number of consumers of the company was 40.63 crores. 

In the wireless segment, Jio has added 2,45,912 customers.  After this, Bharti Airtel has connected 48,397 customers through fixed line connections
